Data We Collect & Why
We collect only what is needed to book and complete a repair or service:
- Name, phone number, email address — to confirm and communicate about your appointment
- Service type, device type, and issue description — to prepare for the repair and provide accurate pricing
- Appointment date and time — to schedule the service
This information is submitted voluntarily through our booking wizard or contact form and is used only to fulfill your service request. We do not collect this information automatically or without your knowledge.
Purpose of Processing
Your contact details are used exclusively to:
- Confirm and manage your appointment
- Contact you about the status of your repair
- Send your invoice
We do not use your information for marketing, profiling, or any purpose beyond fulfilling the service you requested. We will not sell, rent, or share your personal information with third parties for their own purposes.
How Long We Keep It
Booking and contact details are kept for the duration of the service engagement and for a reasonable period afterward for invoice and warranty purposes (typically no longer than 12 months).
You may request deletion of your data at any time by emailing localtechguy.aua@gmail.com. We will action deletion requests within 14 days.
Setup & Troubleshooting Access
For web design, automation, or setup clients: during the course of building or configuring your systems, we may temporarily access your accounts, files, or platforms. This access is:
- Temporary — only for the duration of the active work session
- Purpose-limited — only to complete the agreed task
- Non-retentive — no copies of your business data, customer data, or files are stored on our systems after work is complete
You remain in control of your accounts and credentials at all times. We recommend revoking any temporary access we were granted once the project is completed.
Infrastructure & Hosting
This website and our booking system rely on the following third-party services. Each provider's own privacy policy governs how they handle data:
- GitHub Pages — hosts this website. GitHub may log IP addresses and standard web server data per their privacy policy.
- Cloudflare — handles data in transit between your browser and our booking system. Cloudflare may process IP and request metadata per their privacy policy.
- Google Fonts — serves website fonts. Google may log font requests per their privacy policy.
- Trustpilot — powers the review widget. Trustpilot may set cookies per their privacy policy.
We do not place our own tracking cookies on this website. We do not use analytics platforms (e.g. Google Analytics).
Your Data Rights
You have the right to:
- Access — request a copy of the personal data we hold about you
- Correction — ask us to correct inaccurate information
- Deletion — request that we delete your personal data
- Withdrawal of consent — stop us from processing your data (this may mean we can no longer provide the service)
